There are so few women working in this sector especially. If you are a women film sound artist in any capacity introduce yourself here and how people can reach you if they want to collaborate.

FYI there is a school in San Francisco:

That turns out sound mixers and engineers - I think they are more focused on live events, and I didn't get results the last few times I contacted them to hire someone, but they have been around for a long while, so I would keep encouraging local filmmakers to try them for crew.

It's true, there really aren't that many women composers, sound designers, and audio engineers, especially in horror. There have been more female astronauts in the history of the space program than female composers on mainstream Hollywood films...

Thought I'd weigh in here, as I'm a professional film and game composer specializing in the dark and macabre 🙂 Horror and sci-fi are my kryptonite!

Just submitted an original soundtrack release here, so hopefully it goes up soon. Thanks HannahNeurotica!

Hi -

I'm new to your forum, but want to introduce myself as a film composer, producer - with several film scores completed for horror, thriller, sci fi and garnered some awards for some of my work. And, several of my original compositions have been featured on the History Channel and other cable shows.

I'm surprised by how few women are in this field (in general). Anyway, I've got links to my work below, including the soundtrack to Blood of the Tribades (by Launchover Productions- written by Sophia Cacciola and Michael J. Epstein). Thanks and look forward to posts and more from this forum and site.
